RELEASE: Gallery 349
Gallery 349 announces it's showing of New Work by Jennifer Ditacchio, July 15 through August 4, 1995. The show opens with a reception on July 25, 1995 from 6-10 pm. Ditacchio's
oil paintings are for the artist as well as for the viewer, a memory of
place and mood. The place she presents for us is familiar. The forms which
are often only suggested in silhouette speak of urban landscapes or architectural
forms, industrial yards, docks and sometimes of natural forms. They evoke
a sense of quiet longing, meditation, an experience yet unknown. Her compositions,
usually created with dark forms against a lighter background capture a
moment of dark glowing light such as that of twilight or dawn, with it's
accompanying solitude.
